Instructions for enabling JavaScript on a PC

Internet Explorer 6 and above

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab.
Under Select a zone, click the Internet zone.
Under Security level for this zone, click Default level.
Click the OK button at the bottom of the window, and then OK again.
Return to H&R Block.

Instructions for enabling JavaScript on a Macintosh.

Safari

Click on Safari, then select Preferences. (PC Safari users: Click on Edit, then select Preferences.)
Click on the Security tab.
Under Web content, ensure that Enable plug-ins and Enable JavaScript are checked.
Close the window.
Quit Safari, and then restart the browser.
Return to H&R Block.

Mozilla Firefox version 2 and above

On the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Content tab, click to select the Enable JavaScript check box.
Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.
Click the Go back one page button to return to the previous page, and then click the Reload current page button to run scripts.
Return to H&R Block.

Mozilla Firefox version 2 and above

Click on Firefox and select Preferences.
On the Content tab, click to select the Enable JavaScript check box.
Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.
Quit Mozilla Firefox, and then restart the browser.
Return to H&R Block.

Installing New Software

Installing from a CD

If you are installing software from a CD, please follow these steps:

Windows Instructions

Close all open programs.
Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.
If the program does not start automatically, follow these steps:

Click the Start button, and then click My Computer.
If the CD was purchased from a retail store then right-click on the drive that contains the H&R Block At Home CD, click Explore on the shortcut menu, and then double-click Setup.exe or TCAuto.exe.
If the CD was received in the mail then right-click on the drive that contains the H&R Block At Home CD, click Explore on the shortcut menu, and then double-click TCAuto.exe.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

Macintosh Instructions

Close all open programs.
Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive.
If the window doesn't automatically open, double-click the CD icon on the desktop.
From the window, drag the application to the computer drive icon.

Installing from a Download

If you are installing software from a download from the Web site, please follow these steps:

Windows Federal or State Program:

Close all open applications.
Double-click the downloaded file.
Follow the on-screen instructions. It is recommended that the files be installed to the default location.

Note:

Macintosh Federal Program:

Close all open applications.
Double-click the downloaded (.dmg) file.
Drag H&R Block At Home to the Applications folder.
Open the H&R Block At Home application from the Applications folder.

Macintosh State Program:

Navigate to the folder where the downloaded (.dmg) file was stored
Double-click the .dmg file.
Double-click the XX.bundle file, where XX is the 2-letter abbreviation for your state. For example: CA.bundle.
