How can I open an account?

What is the minimum amount required to open an account?
Accounts can be opened with an initial deposit as low as $25.

What minimum balance must I maintain in order to avoid service charges?
Minimum balance requirements vary by the account type. Regular service charges are waived on Block Checking Accounts if you maintain a minimum balance of $300 or if you have a direct deposit to your account such as your paycheck. Regular service charges are waived on Block Interest Bearing Checking Accounts maintaining a balance $500 or more.

How do I make a deposit to my account?
Deposits can be made to an existing account by:

Direct deposit. Contact your employer to have your payroll check directly deposited into your account. Your employer may request the Bank's routing number, which is 101089700.
U.S. Mail. Mail endorsed checks and a deposit slip with your account number to PO Box 10364, Kansas City, MO 64171-0364. If you are out of deposit slips, you can download one from our site.
Internet/Telephone/ATM (these three methods allow transfers between your accounts held at the Bank)
ACH transfer from an account at another bank.
Wire Transfer from another bank. The other bank will require the H&R Block Bank's routing number, which is 101089700 to complete the wire transfer.

Will my account earn interest?
Block Interest Bearing Checking Accounts do earn interest if your balance is $500 or more. View current rates.

How do I order/re-order checks or deposit slips?
Checks and deposit slips can be ordered from a secured web site.

How do I stop payment on a check?

On-line banking customers can request a stop payment 24 hours a day by going to the stop payment screen after you login to access your accounts on-line.
You can also download a stop payment request and mail or FAX it to us. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 10364, Kansas City, Missouri 64171-0364 or our FAX number is 816-854-8050.
You can also call the Bank at 1-888-OUR-HRBB (1-888-687-4722) and request a stop payment.

You must have either the check number or exact amount for which the check was written in order to request the stop payment (indicating the check number, check amount and the payee is preferred).
